Ballon d’Or: Perisic picks player that should win award this year

Croatia international, Ivan Perisic has picked Real Madrid defender, Dani Carvajal to win the 2024 Ballon d’Or ahead of the likes of Jude Bellingham and Vinicius Junior.

Carvajal played a key role as Luis de la Fuente’s side won Euro 2024 on Sunday night in Berlin, Germany.

The Spaniard enjoyed a great season for club and country, winning the UEFA Champions League, La Liga, and Supercopa de Espana with Real Madrid side and now Euro 2024 with La Roja.

In a post on his Instagram story, Perisic reacted to Spain’s 2-1 final win over England and backed Carvajal to become the first defender since Italy’s Fabio Cannavaro in 2006 to win the Ballon d’Or.

The 35-year-old also claimed that Fabian Ruiz was the “MVP” of the tournament.

He posted: “@Dani Carvajal – Ballon d’Or. Congrats Spain ..well deserved.”
