Former Arsenal forward, Theo Walcott, has said that former Manchester United man, Cristiano Ronaldo is one of the toughest players he met in his days of active football.
He also picked former Manchester United duo, Rio Ferdinand and Patrice Evra in the category of toughest players he faced.
Walcott, 35, played against Manchester United for 23 times, winning four, drawing eight, and losing 11 games.
In total, the former England international played 567 games in his career, scoring 132 goals and providing 88 assists.
The Englishman scored against the Red Devils three times and provided two assists in that time.
Speaking to Bleacher Report, he named Ronaldo, Evra and Rio Ferdinand as the three Manchester United players he faced in his career.
“Patrice Evra. The reason being he was not just a great defender, going forward, he was incredible.
“He really was, it was just so annoying to keep up with, so he’d be one.”
“The other one would be Cristiano Ronaldo, playing against him. I know, physically playing against him, but he was just incredible to be around. When you’re trying to double up with him, with Justin Hoyte I remember he’s just so hard to manage.
“Rio Ferdinand was an incredible defender, probably one of England’s best if not the best defender that’s ever lived…”
