NPFL: Clubs to decide format for 2024/25 season at AGM

The 20 clubs in the Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) will meet on Tuesday (today) at their Annual General Meeting (AGM) to decide on the format for the 2024/25 season.

The clubs, DAILY POST learnt, would deliberate on whether to adopt an abridged or a full-scheduled format.

DAILY POST further gathered that majority of the club owners are in support of the abridged format due to financial constraints.

It would be recalled that the NPFL adopted an abridged format for the 2022/23 season but switched back to a full-schedule last term.

The clubs are also expected to ratify the kick-off date for the new season at the AGM.

The NPFL board has already fixed the kick-off date for the 2024/25 season for Saturday, August 31.
