According to the village chief, Nana Kofi Bediako, the young men died a few days after their friend’s funeral, which went viral on social media.
The viral footage uploaded online portrays the kids carrying the dead body on their shoulders and transferring it around the funeral grounds.
The incident occurred in Asante-Akyem Akutuase, a Ghanaian suburb, and the camera showed the youths chanting excitedly while refusing to let the dead to lie in peace, which sparked much discussion
The reason for their move is unknown, however some say they did it to show their love for him during his funeral.
Netizens who expressed their displeasure with the teens for their actions toward the deceased slammed them harshly, calling it disrespectful to the dead
They not only showed disrespect, but they also declared it was a complete shame for the deceased’s family to pay their final respects to him.
However, in an unexpected turn of events, Asante-Akyem Akutuase’s chief verified the deaths of three young men among the youths who carried the bodies on their shoulders.
The spiritual cause of their untimely demise has yet to be revealed by either the traditional council or the chiefs.
