Akpoborie rallies support for Super Eagles coach, Labbadia

Former international Jonathan Akpoborie says newly appointed Super Eagles head coach, Bruno Labbadia will need the support of the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF and the fans to succeed.

Labbadia’s appointment was confirmed by the NFF on Tuesday.

The 58-year-old will be working in Africa for the first time.

Akpoborie insisted the former Bayern Munich striker must be encouraged to make instant success with the Super Eagles.

“The system wants to support the coach because, without the system supporting the coach, there is a problem,” Akpoborie told Brila.net.

“The coach must be independent in picking those who are supposed to represent Nigeria. This is a significant factor that we’ve missed.”
