EPL: His mum, dad made him incredible – Guardiola hails Man City star

Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola, has hailed midfielder, Mateo Kovacic after their 2-0 win against Chelsea in the Premier League on Sunday.

Kovacic, a former Chelsea player, scored City’s second goal in the 84th minute after Erling Haaland had put the visitors in front in the 18th minute.

Kovacic refused to celebrate in respect to his former club after scoring at Stamford Bridge.

Addressing reporters after the game, Guardiola hailed the Croat’s character, saying, “His mum and dad made him an incredible human being, he is a top-class person, incredibly beloved.”

Manchester City, who are holders of four consecutive titles, have started their title defense with a win.

They showed the gulf in quality with a Chelsea side that has yet to find its bearing despite spending lavishly in the transfer market.

Kovacic started the game at Stamford Bridge and had an impressive outing.
