Transfer: Arne Slot ‘cuts’ four players from Liverpool’s first team

Liverpool manager, Arne Slot, has cut four players from the first-team ahead of the new Premier League season.

According to the UK Mirror, they are Ben Doak, Tyler Morton, Lewis Koumas and Harvey Blair.

They all featured in the Reds’ pre-season tour of the US, but were back in action for the U-21s, as they defeated Ipswich 5-2 in a behind closed doors friendly match.

Both Morton and Doak could leave before the transfer window closes later this month.

Morton, 21, spent last season on loan at Hull City and has been heavily linked with a permanent exit, with Atalanta and RB Leipzig interested.

On the other hand, Doak is expected to leave on loan this summer, with Brentford, Southampton and Leicester all interested.

Doak joined Liverpool from Celtic in 2022 for £600,000, but injuries have hampered his progress so far.
