Transfer: Man Utd to sign £50m Chelsea target for Ten Hag before deadline

Manchester United is plotting a £50m offer to sign Brighton’s Evan Ferguson before the end of this summer transfer window.

Ferguson, who has been credited with a strong interest from Chelsea, has scored 16 goals in 65 appearances since breaking into Brighton’s first-team squad in 2021.

The Republic of Ireland international is widely regarded as one of the finest young strikers in Premier League football.

However, according to The Daily Star, Man United is preparing to test Brighton’s resolve with a late bid to land the 19-year-old before the summer transfer deadline.

The report added that an approach for Ferguson is ‘very much on the agenda’ at the Red Devils, with the club’s chief Dan Ashworth, a former sporting director at Brighton.

Ashworth is leading the charge for the highly-rated youngster.
