Former Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom’s faction of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has opened a parallel secretariat of the party in Benue State.
The new secretariat is located at the popular Oracle Business Cooperate office owned by the the former governor along Jonah Jang Road, in High Level, Makurdi.
Ortom’s supporters in a post on Facebook said he donated the secretariat to the party following abrupt eviction from their previous accommodation on Monday.
The former accommodation is alleged to be owned by another former governor who is locked in the battle for the soul of the party with Ortom.
DAILY POST observed that normal activities is going on at the official state secretariat of the party located on Ochagwu Street, New GRA, Makurdi.
A staff of the party who spoke to this paper on condition of anonymity said they are not aware of the opening of a new secretariat.
While Speaking at the new parallel PDP secretariat on Monday, Ortom said as a leader of the Benue PDP, he needed to do what he did to ensure that the party operates in a conducive environment .
He said he won’t shy away from playing his roles as the leader of the PDP to ensure that the party bounces back to power in 2027.
Ortom assured of his unwavering support to all the candidates of the party in the forthcoming local government election in the state.
He charged the Caretaker Committee of the party to ensure that it unites all the warring factions.
