CAF Champions League: Rangers secure slim 1-0 win over Sagrada Esperanca

Kazeem Ogunleye scored the only goal as Nigerian champions Rangers defeated Angola’s Sagrada Esperanca 1-0 in the first leg of their CAF Champions League second preliminary round tie in Uyo on Friday.

Ogunleye scored the winning goal 12 minutes from time.

Fidelis Ilechukwu’s side once again struggled in front of goal like they did in their first round tie against US Zilimadjou of Comoros.

The reverse fixture will hold at the Estadio 11 de Novembro, Luanda on Sunday, November 22.

Rangers will need a draw to progress to lucrative group stage of the competition.

Nigeria’s other representative in the CAF Champions League, Remo Stars were eliminated in the first round by AS FAR of Morocco.
