Edo Election: INEC adjourns collation after announcing results from 16 LGAs

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has adjourned the ongoing collation of Edo State Governorship election results until 5:00 pm.

Prof. Faruk Adamu Kuta, the Returning Officer for the election, made the announcement at the collation center in Benin City at about 2:19 pm on Sunday.

The announcement was made after the Commission successfully announced results from 16 local government areas.

The candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Senator Monday Okpebholo, is leading in the results declared so far and is closely followed by the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Asue Ighodalo.

APC is leading in 10 of the 16 LGAs announced so far while PDP is leading in six.
