LG Poll: Court stops Kano Electoral Commission from imposing N10m, N5m on candidates

A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has restrained the Kano State Independence Electoral Commission (KANSIEC) from charging or imposing N5 million and N10 million fees on contestants in the LG election in the state.

The electoral commission has imposed the fees on chairmanship and councillorship candidates in the LG poll.

The presiding judge, Justice Emeka Nwite granted the order on Wednesday in a suit instituted by Action Peoples Party (APP), Action Democratic Party (ADP) and Social Democratic Party (SDP).

The Kano State Independent Electoral Commission is the respondent in the suit.
