Nations League: Man Utd captain, Bruno Fernandes gives update on his injury

Manchester United captain, Bruno Fernandes has played down the severity of a knock he sustained in Portugal’s dramatic Nations League win over Scotland at the weekend.

Fernandes insisted the injury was ‘just a little bump’.

Recall that Portugal came from a goal down to beat Scotland 2-1 on Sunday.

Fernandes and Cristiano Ronaldo scored the goals for the host against Scotland in Lisbon, cancelling out Scott McTominay’s seventh-minute header.

During the encounter, Fernandes appeared to be struggling with an ankle problem before Ronaldo’s last-ditch winner.

However, the attacking midfielder remained on the field until the final whistle.

Asked for an update on his ankle after Portugal defeated Scotland, Fernandes told the media: “It’s okay. It’s just a little bump.”
