Notorious bandit leader Gitta dies of injuries after rival clash

Another notorious bandit leader, Gajere, also known as Mai’Yar Gitta, has died after suffering gunshot wounds.

Gitta had sustained injuries during a recent encounter with his fellow bandits during a fierce confrontation with troops at Dankurmi village in Dansadau Local Government Area but he escaped.

However, the notorious bandit leader was confirmed dead yesterday, at Kawaye village in Bagega Ward, Anka Local Government Area, due to the injuries he sustained, Makama Zagazola reports.

Gitta’s death is the latest in the prominent bandit leaders to be eliminated as Nigerian troops continue their clearance operations.

Notable bandit leaders killed during this period include Haliru Kachalla Sububu or Buzu; Kachalla Tukur Sharme (killed by a rival gang); Sani Black, another prominent bandit leader, killed along with his brother and two children; Kachalla Makore; Kachalla Mai Shayi; Kachalla Tsoho Lulu; and Mai’Yar Gitta.
