VP Shettima directs new NAHCON chair to resume in acting capacity

Vice President Kashim Shettima has directed the newly appointed National Chairman of the National Hajj Commission, NAHCON, Professor Abdullahi Saleh Usman, to immediately assume duty pending the screening and eventual confirmation by the Senate.

Shetima gave the directive in a letter dated 5th September 2024 and signed by the Deputy Chief of Staff to President, Senator Ibrahim Hassan Hadejia.

The letter titled, “Resumption of office in Ag Capacity addressed to Professor Saleh Usman,” reads: “I am directed by His Excellency, Senator Shetima, GCON, the Vice President, to convey the approval of your resumption of office as Chairman National Hajj Commission in an acting capacity with immediate effect, pending confirmation by the Senate after resumption from recess.”

President Tinubu had on the 19th of August 2024 appointed Abdullahi Saleh Usman as chairman of the National Hajj Commissions of Nigeria, subject to confirmation by the Senate.
