AC Milan Legend, Marco van Basten has hit out at Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag for signing 22-year-old midfielder Manuel Ugarte from PSG.
Van Basten believes it’s ‘idiotic’ from Ten Hag to invest in players like Ugarte who aren’t good enough.
Ugarte was among the signings Man United made under Ten Hag in the summer.
The likes of Leny Yoro, Matthijs De Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui also joined the Red Devils.
“I saw a new player walking around at Manchester United, (Manuel) Ugarte, for €50 million (£42.3m), how is this guy walking around there?” Van Basten said on Ziggo Sport.
“It’s idiotic how much (Ten Hag) has decided to invest in players who are not even good.”
