EPL: Michael Oliver not handed refereeing duty this weekend

The Premier League’s confirmed line-up of officials for this weekend’s games, reveals that Michael Oliver will not be refereeing any fixture.

Oliver, instead, will be performing VAR duties.

He was in charge of Monday night’s game between Bournemouth and Southampton, which ended in a 3-1 win for the Cherries.

This weekend, however, he will be the VAR for Brentford’s clash with Wolves.

Less than a fortnight ago, Oliver found himself in charge of a heated encounter between Manchester City and Arsenal which ended 2-2.

He sent off Leandro Trossard with his second yellow coming after he delayed the restart – something the PGMOL are keen to crack down on this season.
