October 1: Security beefed up at Govt House as Kano residents shun protest

There is relative peace in the ancient city of Kano as youths in the state shunned the October 1 protest.

DAILY POST also reports that residents engaged in commercial activities, with several shops open for business.

Our correspondent observed that while some shops within the city center were open, those situated along major roads we’re closed.

Residents moved about their normal activities.

However, the road leading to Government House was blocked by security operative including the military, Police and DSS.

The development might not be unconnected with fears of a repeat of the violence that rocked Kano during the #EndBadGovernance protests.
