He stated how Wike push for Sheriff to step down as Chairman led to a crisis in Port Harcourt. He argued that this leadership crisis nearly destroyed the PDP. Furthermore, he questioned Wike’s role in bringing Secondus into the party, another decision that has been widely criticized. He pointed out that Wike’s actions have been motivated by self-interest and that he has prioritized his own ambitions over the party’s well-being.
He said in an interview with Symfoni, ”And when people talk about Wike’s contribution to the party remember we all worked on these things. Each of these crisis in the party, some of them had some element of Wike in them. Who brought Alimodu Sheriff to be PDP Chairman, it was your (Wike) choice and other people advised against it when you brought him. I told you one on one that this will not augur well because of his history ANPP and APP.
When the crisis in Port Harcourt started that Sheriff must go, you (Wike) and your people are shooting canister left right and Center. That crisis nearly destroyed the PDP. Whose idea was it to also bring Secondus? So when people say Wike suffered for us, I ask did he suffered for himself or he suffered for us?
