Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, is set to inaugurate the 43rd edition of the Federation of Public Service Games (FEPSGA), currently hosted by the state.
The official opening ceremony is scheduled for 12:00 p.m. on Sunday (today) at Sharks Stadium, Port Harcourt, and is expected to attract prominent dignitaries from across the country, including officials of the federal government.
According to a statement signed by the State Commissioner for Information and Communications, Joe Johnson, over 8,000 athletes from 80 Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) of the federal government, alongside Team Rivers, are participating in the games, which have so far seen intense competition.
The governor will preside over the ceremonial march past and is expected to take salutes from the participating teams.
Sporting events are being held across multiple venues, including Sharks Stadium, the Civic Centre, Port Harcourt Club 1928, and the University of Port Harcourt.
