Nigeria’s Super Falcons lost 2-1 against Les Bleues of France in a keenly contested friendly at the Stade Raymond Kopa, Angers.
France extended their winning run over Nigeria to four games following the hard-earned victory.
Laurent Bonadie’s side had the ball in the net after seven minutes but Marie-Antoinette Katoto’s effort was rightly ruled out for offside.
Eugenie Claudine Le Sommer however handed Les Bleues the lead just before the half hour mark.
It was 2-0 eight minutes later with Tunisia-born Amel Majri firing past goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie inside the box.
Nigeria reduced the deficit on the dot of 45 minutes courtesy of Ifeoma Onumonu’s superb chip following a swift counter attacking move.
The goal was the Super Falcons first against the Europeans.
