Fulham defender, Calvin Bassey believes the Whites were unlucky in Sunday’s 1-1 draw against Tottenham Hotspur.

The Cottagers were thrashed 4-1 by Wolverhampton Wanderers the previous week but gave a positive response at the White Hart Lane.

Although Spurs dominated possession but the visitors conjured the better chances.

Fulham fell behind in the 54th minute through Brennan Johnson’s fine strike after Bassey was caught out of position inside the box.

His compatriot, Alex Iwobi however set up captain Tom Carney for the equaliser 13 minutes later.

Carney was sent off seven minutes from time but Fulham held on to earn a point.

“I think we deserved more,” Bassey said in a post-match interview.

“Fraser Forster [Tottenham’s goalkeeper] made some incredible saves—three that could have been goals.

“We were a bit unlucky, especially with the red card when we had momentum.

“But on the bright side, we managed the game well and didn’t concede late, which has been an issue in past matches.”
