Troops of the Joint Task Force North West Operation Fansan Yamma have neutralised many bandits at Yar Galadima village, Maru Local Government Area of Zamfara State, as a distress call came from residents and vigilantes.

According to a statement by the Coordinator, Joint media Coordination Center, Lt Col. Abubakar Abdulahi, responding swiftly to the 5 am alert on December 1, 2024, troops from the Forward Operating Base, FOB Hanutara encountered the bandits at two separate locations en route to the village.

The statement added that with resilience and tactical superiority, the troops mobilized to the ambush sites, neutralising several attackers, as others fled with various degrees of gunshot injuries.

“The Air Component of Operation Fansan Yamma provided critical close air support, targeting fleeing terrorists and ensuring no safe escape.

“The operation successfully restored peace to the area, reaffirming the Joint Task Force’s commitment to eradicating terrorist threats across the North West and Niger State,” he added.

He emphasized the unwavering resolve of Operation Fansan Yamma to protect lives and secure communities in the zone.
