Police officers in Jigawa State have rescued a kidnapping victim after a gun duel with hoodlums in Malam Madori Local Government Area.
Spokesperson of the Jigawa State Command, DSP Lawan Shiisu Adam, disclosed this in a statement issued to DAILY POST.
According to the statement: “A distress call was received at Malam Madori Division that unknown armed men stormed the residence of one Alhassan Audu, of Tudun Ghana Quarters, Malam Madori LGA and kidnapped him.”
Shiisu explained that on receipt of the call, a patrol team promptly raced to the scene and engaged the hoodlums in a gun duel.
He said during the process, the hoodlums were forced to abandon the victim and flee, and the victim was rescued unharmed.
The police spokesman said efforts are ongoing to apprehend the fleeing culprits.
