Fulham manager, Marco Silva has saluted Alex Iwobi after his brace helped the Whites beat Brighton 3-1 at the Craven Cottage on Thursday night.

Iwobi profited from Bart Verbruggen’s error to give Fulham an early lead.

The versatile midfielder then sealed the win by scoring his second of the game three minutes from time.

The 28-year-old has now registered three goals and two assists in his last four appearances for the Cottagers.

“Alex has been outstanding from the first day of pre-season. He is in a happy place and he is a fantastic footballer,” Silva told the BBC.

“Last season was his best season in the Premier League and one or two months ago I said he would be even better in this one.

“He is really versatile and I can use him in many different positions.

“He’s a top player with the way he can assist and score goals more than ever. What a game for him and he deserved all the credit.”

The win lifted Fulham to sixth position on the Premier League table.
