Zinedine Zidane has decided not to join Real Madrid for a third spell amid uncertainty over Carlo Ancelotti’s future, according to Cadena SER.
Ancelotti is under pressure at the Bernabeu following a fifth defeat of the season.
Los Blancos are second in LaLiga, four points behind rivals Barcelona, and 24th in the Champions League, the final position from which a team can reach the knockout play-off rounds.
It is believed that Raul, Solari, and Zidane are the potential candidates to replace Ancelotti if Real opts to sack the Italian.
The club would like to appoint Xabi Alonso in 2025 but could bring in an interim boss. But Zidane is unwilling to step in with a contract until the end of the season.
Zidane is one of Real Madrid’s most successful managers ever, winning the Champions League three times as well as LaLiga twice.
