Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has claimed that Manchester City are in a “better place” ahead of Sunday’s derby.
Pep Guardiola’s team heads into the game having lost seven of their last 10 matches. City’s 2-0 defeat to Juventus in the Champions League on Wednesday means the Premier League champions have won just one of their last 10 games.
United, on the other hand, staged a comeback to defeat FC Viktoria Plzen 2-1 in the Europa League on Thursday.
Despite City’s recent struggles, Amorim believes they are more likely to win at the Etihad Stadium.
“The great teams can respond at any moment, and I think they are in a better place than us in terms of understanding the game, the way they play, and the confidence they have,” Amorim said.
“Even in difficult moments like this, we have a lot to focus on within our own team. We will face a great opponent, but I’m more focused on our issues. We have a lot of problems here.”
