EPL: He lacks confidence to go one-on-one – Amorim on Man Utd £85m forward

Manchester United manager, Ruben Amorim, has vowed to turn Antony into a better player after he put in another underwhelming performance during their Carabao Cup loss at Tottenham on Thursday.

The £85m signing from Ajax has struggled to reproduce his best form at United.

But Amorim has said the Brazilian is working hard to raise his level.

“He needs more confidence,” Amorim said.

“If you remember the Antony from Ajax, he lacks the confidence to go to one against one. So he will improve.

“He’s working really hard and trying, he’s playing more inside than outside, especially in this game, and you just have to do that to work really hard and I will help him to be a better player.”
