JAMB reported that a total of 40,247 candidates below the standard age limit were granted permission to take the exam under a special arrangement aimed at assessing their advanced academic capabilities. Despite this opportunity, only 467 of these candidates—about 1.16%—achieved scores that met the board’s criteria for exceptional academic achievement. The board stated that these underage examinees would face three further stages of evaluation to determine their overall suitability. Additionally, the exam saw 71,701 candidates failing to appear. JAMB also noted that certain students encountered issues with biometric verification, and those found eligible after further review will be given another chance to write the exam at specially assigned centers. Furthermore, results are still pending for some candidates, including those who are visually impaired and others categorized under the JEOG classification. These results are currently being processed and will be made public once finalized. JAMB concluded by saying that a formal press briefing is scheduled later this week, during which the individual results will be officially announced along with instructions on how candidates can access their scores.
