2027: Atiku & Peter Obi Doesn’t Have Better Ideas To Offer, Tinubu Is Superior Intellectually—Sowunmi Revealed

PDP heavyweight Segun Sowunmi stirred conversations with a confident declaration during his interview on the MIC On Podcast, where he discussed his qualifications to compete on the same political stage as President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. When asked if he considered himself fit to contest against Tinubu in a presidential race, Sowunmi responded affirmatively, while commending Tinubu’s intellectual capacity in comparison to other critics of the current administration.

Sowunmi remarked that although Tinubu’s economic and infrastructural policies might be struggling in terms of immediate impact—especially on the poor—there is a strategic vision behind them that deserves recognition. He cited examples such as the Lagos coastal highway and agricultural economic zones as projects reflecting foresight, and argued that many critics fail to appreciate the broader developmental context.

Despite his acknowledgment of Tinubu’s intellect, Sowunmi was unapologetic in asserting his own intellectual superiority. He positioned himself as a seasoned political thinker who has spent years engaging in rigorous debate and idea exchange, including with Tinubu himself.

He said, “Honestly, I don’t think those opposing him are significantly more competent than I am. If anything, Tinubu is more intelligent than they are. And if I say that, it’s because I truly know them. Still, I consider myself more intellectually equipped than Tinubu—we didn’t just start exchanging ideas. We’ve been doing so for years.”
