
“In the coming months, the north will clarify its political direction,” Baba-Ahmed stated. “If other regions wish to partner with us, that is welcome. However, if they choose not to, we are prepared to forge our own path. It is clear that no candidate can ascend to the presidency without the backing of the north.”
Reflecting on past adversities, particularly the Boko Haram insurgency, Baba-Ahmed highlighted the necessity for unity among northern communities. “The north has endured significant suffering, affecting all groups—Muslims, Christians, and ethnic minorities alike. This shared experience should unite us in our political choices,” he remarked.
