After disclosing his salary in an interview, he claimed to have received a N80 million tax bill hours later. Within 48 hours of the discovery, Famakin revealed, he received an email from the Lagos State Internal Revenue Service, or LIRS.
In his most recent interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo, he revealed this while talking about his financial experience as a food reviewer. Famakin described the surprise meeting and the timing, implying that the tax authorities was drawn to his public remarks.
“LIRS emailed me two days after I disclosed my financial situation, claiming that I owed them N80 million, which I paid. It resembled play.I would never again discuss my finances, though. They replied no, notwithstanding my use of the word “allegedly,” but let’s not talk about it.
