At approximately 2:35 a.m. on Tuesday, Oriyomi was taken into custody by members of the State Community, Social Orientation, and Safety Corps (So-Safe Corps). Through the office of Assistant Commander Moruf Yusuf, the Corps’ Director of Information and Public Relations, Commander (Dr.) Soji Ganzallo, the Commander of So-Safe Corps, revealed this in a press release.
The statement claims that the cops on normal patrol noticed the unusual activities and saw the suspect attempting to hide. Oriyomi was caught when he returned to the grave to fetch a human skull after noticing that the officers had left. According to Ganzallo, he admitted during questioning that he was trying to find another skull to finish the number needed for the fabrication of an Osole money ceremony.

After another conviction in Obada-Oko, he spent an additional six years and nine months at the Oba Correctional Center. Oriyomi acknowledged that he had dug up a skull from a tomb on a piece of property behind his house on January 18, 2025.
“He admitted that he had concealed the first skull in his room and that he was an experienced criminal who had previously sold almost ten skulls.” Ganzallo affirmed that the Nigeria Police Force, Obada Divisional Headquarters, has received the suspect and the recovered exhibit, a thoroughly dried human skull, for additional investigation and potential prosecution.
