EPL: ‘We had issues, he needs to compete’ – Ten Hag on Sancho

Manchester United boss, Erik ten Hag, has explained why winger Jadon Sancho was not included in his side’s squad to face Brighton.

Sancho travelled with the Red Devils’ squad but was not included in match-day squad.

The England star had also missed Man United’s first game against Fulham last week.

Explaining Sancho’s exclusion, Ten Hag was quoted by Fabrizio Romano as saying: “I had a choice to make. We had some issues, we need a full squad.

“He’s one of them and needs to compete for his position.”
