The former National Publicity Secretary of the now-defunct New Peoples Democratic Party, or nPDP, told reporters in Port Harcourt on Tuesday that President Bola Tinubu had lost the support of Niger Deltans by siding with Nyesom Wike, the minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Eze claimed that because Tinubu is backing the FCT Minister, the long-running political unrest in Rivers State has persisted unchecked. “Wike is supporting the plan to remove Governor Fubara from office and install Amaewhule in his place, with the backing of the Presidency.”
Eze claimed in his statement that Wike was using his unholy political marriage to Tinubu to destabilize Rivers State and divert Governor Fubara in order to install their puppet, Amaewhule, as governor and rig the state’s general elections in 2027.
Unfortunately for Tinubu and Wike, these nefarious and undemocratic schemes to unseat Fubara will not only fail like a deck of cards, but will instead encourage and support Fubara in his determined attempts to free the state from the shackles of vandals posing as legislators. “I have advised President Tinubu since the start that his relationship with Wike will not only ruin the APC as a political party but also damage his democratic political career,” Eze stated.
If Wike is still the governor of Rivers State, will anyone be willing to try what he is doing to Fubara? Is he capable of managing this political crisis? According to Eze, “Wike and the Presidency would have witnessed what fire does to a rat’s ears if it weren’t for Fubara’s peace-loving, amiable, wise, humane, respectful, and laid-back nature.”
He clarified that the attempt to remove Fubara from the Brick House or impeach him would not succeed because Tinubu and Wike’s supporters might not be well-versed in Rivers State politics, which he claimed is split between two blocks: the upland and riverine axis.
“The public may find it interesting to learn that Rivers State was governed for 24 years by the upland axis of the state, which was led by Dr. Peter Odili, Rt. Hon. Barr Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, and Chief Nyesom Wike, while the riverine axis, which is led by Sir Fubara, is simply governing the state,” he continued. Disrupting and abruptly ending the government of Fubara, according to the APC stalwart, would be equivalent to subjugating the Ijaw nation and other riverine ethnic nationalities.
“To remove an Ijaw governor from office due to a single man’s avarice and autocratic inclinations is the height of political insensitivity,” he declared. Eze cautioned that the current attempt to remove the first riverine governor and install a new upland candidate is only inviting disaster for the state. The APC leader warned Amaewhule and his associates to cease making fun of the important legislative agenda and to wake up from their fantasy.
Amaewhule and his group of defectors are incapable of imposing their will on a sitting governor. Unaware that they are demeaning and desecrating the position of governor of Rivers State, they have openly abused Fubara and called him unprintable terms,” Eze continued.
The MPs led by Amaewhule rejected Fubara’s request for a truce. Eze responded to the lawmakers’ attitude by saying they had to quit playing god and pretending that Rivers State cannot proceed without them. “The lawmakers’ rejection of Governor Fubara’s calm invitation to a meeting is ominous and unlucky behavior; an insult to the highly esteemed office of the governor of Rivers State,” he stated.
Amaewhule and the others had received a formal invitation from Fubara to talk and work out solutions to the political snag. “The world now knows that the lawmakers are very determined to undermine the peace of Rivers State by refusing to honor the invitation,” Eze said, describing the meeting invitation as a “political masterstroke strategy.”CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
