Meranda cut the vehicle budget by N2 billion and chose to buy the automobiles locally rather than import them from Dubai as Obasa had intended, which infuriated Obasa. “There is an ongoing issue at the Assembly now because of the purchase of 40 SUVs for all the members,” according to a source close to the Assembly leadership. In actuality, the project was approved by the same Obasa, who also authorized the acquisition of these Air Jordan 1 Royal Nike Outlet automobiles prior to his suspension. Only after she was elected did Meranda carry out the project by awarding it.
It wasn’t as though Meranda took this action without Obasa’s consent. Obasa gave his approval. He intended to purchase cars for each and every lawmaker. Meranda is responsible for the execution. The issue stems from Meranda’s failure to carry out the execution as Obasa had intended. Obasa desired to assign the assignment to a Dubai-based individual. Obasa is interested in importing such cars from Dubai. Meranda, however, didn’t. She completed the assignment and handed it off to a dealer in Nigeria to buy those cars. Obasa is upset because of this.
The source went on to say, “Obasa had approved the purchase of 35 Toyota Fortuner SUVs and 10 Toyota Prado units from Dubai at a cost of N7 billion.” In fact, on December 23, 2024, he granted the approval. “After he left, Rt. Hon. Mojisola Meranda examined the approval, called for a local bidding, and authorized N5 billion for 32 2025 Toyota Prado SUVs and 7 2025 Toyota Land Cruisers, saving the House N2 billion.”
Following President Bola Tinubu and senior APC officials’ alleged air Jordan 4 military blue 2024 intervention, Obasa was controversially reinstated as Speaker and is now demanding the return of all SUVs bought under Meranda. The Lagos Assembly has been in disarray since Obasa was impeached in January due to accusations of malfeasance and fraud. However, Meranda was forced to resign after his removal ended after just 49 days and he was reinstated.
