EXCLUSIVE: PDP Crisis worsen as Ugochinyere Applauds Sacking of Anyanwu, Demands Expulsion of Wike

 

 

According to NaijaNews, the internal crisis within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) took a new turn on Tuesday as Hon. Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere, a prominent lawmaker and party figure, applauded the National Working Committee (NWC) for approving the removal of Senator Samuel Anyanwu as National Secretary. Ugochinyere described the decision as a necessary move toward reclaiming the party’s integrity and internal democratic structure.

In a statement released through *Naija News*, the House of Representatives member representing Ideato Federal Constituency hailed the appointment of Arch. Setonji Koshoedo, the former Deputy National Secretary, as a welcome development. Koshoedo is expected to serve in an acting capacity until Rt. Hon. Udo Okoye is officially nominated by the Southeast zone to assume the role permanently.

Ugochinyere labeled the removal of Anyanwu as an end to what he termed the “flagrant imposition” that had persisted despite a court ruling invalidating Anyanwu’s continued hold on the position. Taking a firm stance, Ugochinyere further called for the expulsion of Federal Capital Territory Minister, Nyesom Wike, and Senator Anyanwu, accusing them of undermining the party’s stability through personal ambition and what he referred to as “Abuja land allocation schemes.”

He also pressed the NWC to adopt recommendations from the Chief Tom Ikimi-led disciplinary committee, which reportedly advocates for punitive actions against members accused of anti-party activities.

“This is a crucial moment for the PDP to reaffirm its commitment to internal discipline and rebuild public trust,” Ugochinyere stated. “The era of destructive politicking and betrayal must end, and those responsible must be shown the door.”

The lawmaker concluded by commending the NWC’s leadership for what he termed the “beginning of the PDP’s recovery journey,” urging them to remain courageous in confronting internal saboteurs.
