Momodu: Tinubu, God Gave You What He Didn’t Give Abiola, Yar’Adua, Olu Falae, and Chief Awolowo

 

Prominent politician and journalist Dele Momodu has voiced serious worries about the democratic situation under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s leadership. In an interview with Channels Television, Momodu bemoaned the apparent deterioration of democratic values and likened the governance style of the current administration to a dictatorship.CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>

The words of Momodu at some point during the interview read, “I think it is very unfortunate. President Tinubu, I know very well, though we have not been in the same party with him, but we were together in exile, and he fought gallantly for this democracy. So a lot of us who were his co-comrades at that time are actually very embarrassed that we have a true democracy leader in government, and yet what we are witnessing is worse than dictatorship.

 

Speaking further, he stated that, “I have said it so many times openly that people will forgive President Tinubu if he fails in the economy, but he shouldn’t fail in democracy, which former president Jonathan succeeded in doing. It is less than two years in this government, and we are witnessing crisis upon crisis just because some people want a second term.

“Tinubu, God gave you what he didn’t give Abiola, Yar’Adua, Olu Falae, and Chief Awolowo. These were great leaders; they didn’t have it. How you manage it is what matters,” he added.CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
