BREAKING: Retired Army General Exposes True Boko Haram Leader, Debunks Shekau’s Role

In a shocking revelation that has sent ripples through security circles, retired Major General Abdul Khalifa Ibrahim Ali Keffi has disclosed that the real leader of Boko Haram was apprehended in a secret international operation—and it was not Abubakar Shekau, as previously assumed. The bombshell details emerged during a revealing interview with Arise News, exposing what he described as a significant military cover-up.

BREAKING: Retired Army General Exposes True Boko Haram Leader, Debunks Shekau's Role

Ali Keffi asserted that Shekau, long portrayed as the terror group’s mastermind, was merely a decoy. “The true leader of Boko Haram was captured, and surprisingly, it wasn’t Shekau. This individual wasn’t even Nigerian,” he revealed, highlighting the extent of the deception. The actual commander, he claimed, was a foreign operative who had been directing the group from within Nigeria for years, evading public attention.

The retired general described the mission as one of the most critical covert operations conducted during the Buhari administration, supported by the former Minister of Defence and key global partners. “We collaborated closely with intelligence agencies from three countries, including a leading Western nation and the UAE,” he disclosed, crediting international cooperation for the operation’s success.

The joint task force reportedly included Nigeria’s top security and intelligence units—the DSS, NIA, DIA, and NFIU—leading to the capture of several high-profile targets, both domestically and abroad.

However, the victory was fleeting. Ali Keffi revealed that he soon became a target himself. “I was summoned for questioning by military police, but instead of a debriefing, I was arrested,” he said, detailing his unexplained detention.  He ended with a grave warning: internal sabotage and political meddling are severely weakening Nigeria’s counterterrorism efforts. According to him, national security is being compromised from within, demanding urgent action to restore the military’s operational integrity.
