I Gave My Husband Money To Pay My Bride Price, He Didn’t Spend Anything on Our Wedding – Arikeade Omotosho Revealed

Arikeade Omotosho has shared a deeply personal account of her wedding experience, revealing that she bore the full financial responsibility for the entire event, including her own bride price. In a video interview with Oriyomi Hamzat on the official YouTube channel of Oriyomi Unfiltered Realm TV, Omotosho recounted the events that led up to her marriage, shedding light on the financial and emotional challenges she faced.

According to Omotosho, her husband made it clear from the beginning that he was not in a financial position to contribute to the wedding preparations.Despite this, she remained committed to moving forward with the marriage. Drawing from her years of dedication to business and personal enterprise, Omotosho decided to take charge of the situation by financing every aspect of the wedding.

She explained that her husband had no money to contribute even when the wedding date drew closer. He was working as an interstate traveler and had an unfortunate encounter with armed robbers during one of his journeys. The attack left him hospitalized with a serious head injury and unable to work or save for the ceremony. With medical bills draining his limited resources, he remained without funds as the wedding approached.

Faced with mounting expenses and a looming wedding date, Omotosho took further steps to ensure that the event went ahead as planned. She went as far as providing the money needed for her bride price, an act that is traditionally the responsibility of the groom in many cultures.

In addition to paying for the bride price, she also purchased their wedding clothes and even contributed to the traditional bride’s gifts, going to the extent of taking some of her mother’s clothes to include in the collection.

She said; “When I told my husband that we should start getting prepared and buying things for our wedding, he told me that he didn’t have any money to spend on the wedding. So I told him not to worry because since I was little, I have been hustling and making money. I love doing business and making money. I told you I have money. However, when I told him to come and pay my bride price, he said he didn’t have any money. I was the one that paid my bride price. I gave my husband money to pay my bride price. I gave him the money from my sweat. He didn’t spend anything on the wedding, including the clothes we bought. Even when the wedding was getting closer, I told him to gather up money. However, while he was working because he’s a traveler, he travels from state to state, during one of his travels, he was attacked by armed robbers and was hacked on the head. A week to our wedding, he didn’t have any money because he had just got discharged from the hospital following the attack. I had to steal my mother’s clothes and give them to him to add to some of the bride’s gifts. He didn’t even have money for a kettle. I was the one that bought that too.”
