Gombe United have announced the signing of 31 new players for the 2024-25 Nigeria National League(NNL) season.
The players signed are Abubakar Hassan from Niger Tornadoes, Musa Adamu, Ibrahim Hamisu Haruna, Zaidu Ibrahim Mohammed and Jacob Manga joined from Doma united, Oliver Adisa signed from Smart City, Aminu Abubakar moved from Osun United, Auwal Mohammed Bello and Yakubu Ibrahim Nabeguwa joined from Nationwide League One club Yarma light Fc, Chinonso Anikwe from Coal City, Damian Obodoagu, George Michael, Faisal Mohammed, Musa Ohyaba Aliyu and Saidu Mohammed teamed up from Wikki Tourists.
Others are Igor John from Plateau United, Hope Naalo Victor from Jigawa Golden Stars, Akamba Daniel, Anthony James, Basheer Abubakar, Chidera obiozor, David Jack Kere, Edega Christopher, Fortune Ghankon, Gideon Gambo, Gideon Stephen Chukwu, Joseph Zakarih, ogbodo Somto Chukwu, Olumide Peter Ilesanmi, Shedrack Anthony, Chidebere Umeh and Umar Kwami. They were all signed from different academies across the country.
The General Manager of the club, Malam Anas Bamusa (Kwami), made the announcement in a statement on Thursday.
Bamusa said that the goal is to secure a promotion ticket back to the topflight next season.
“This is a huge project—‘Operation Bring Gombe United Football Club to NPFL,” Bamusa told Gombe United media.
“With the unity and collective efforts of our players, technical team, management, and devoted fans, we are confident of achieving this dream.”
Gombe United will square up with Sokoto United in their opening fixture of the new season on Sunday, December 15.
