According to DAILY SUN, Prince Adewole Adebayo, a Social Democratic Party chieftain and the party’s 2023 presidential candidate, has spoken his opinions about Nigeria’s rotating presidency, emphasizing the necessity for a more thorough strategy to ensure the system works.CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>

Adebayo explained that rotating the presidency among geopolitical zones may promote peace among elites, but it should also address deeper issues and argued that true progress and justice require involving ordinary Nigerians in leadership.

He cautioned that simply shifting leadership among the same group of elites would result in repeated failures and described this approach as one that perpetuates problems like poverty and insecurity rather than solving them.

Adebayo proposed a new model for rotational leadership.and suggested that power should rotate across generations, from older politicians to younger ones, and should favor leaders with innovative and indigenous ideas, believing that such leaders, focused on Nigeria’s interests rather than external influences, can bring about meaningful progress.

This approach, he said, would introduce fresh energy and solutions to the country’s challenges, by prioritizing authentic, pro-Nigeria ideologies, Adebayo sees an opportunity for the nation to achieve real development and fairness.

“If you are rotating from North to South and all of that and rotating about the same wasteful elite who have no idea, you will be rotating poverty, insecurity, and others.”

“But if you rotate intergenerationally, that is from the old people to the young ones and ideologically from those who follow the International Monetary Fund (IMF)-World Bank, to those who have indigenous, authentic, and pro-Nigeria ideas, you would have some progress for the country,” he submitted.CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
