The announcement was made on Monday during the Assembly’s 137th Legislative Sitting. According to a statement by the Speaker’s media aide, Martins Wachukwu, the notice was signed by 26 lawmakers and outlines five allegations against the Governor and three against the Deputy Governor, with accompanying particulars.

Speaker Amaewhule disclosed that he received the notice on March 14, 2025, and in accordance with Section 188 of the 1999 Constitution (as amended), it has been distributed to all members and transmitted to the Governor and his Deputy.

To ensure the notice reaches the concerned officeholders, especially in the event that the documents are not acknowledged, the House resolved to publish the notice in at least three national newspapers.

In another development, the House passed a motion moved by Rt. Hon. Dumle Maol, calling on the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to investigate the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Tammy Danagogo.

The motion alleged that Dr. Danagogo spent large sums of public funds without backing by any Appropriation Law.

Commenting on the motion, Speaker Amaewhule explained that the Assembly resolved to involve the EFCC after the Governor allegedly barred heads of Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) from honoring invitations extended by the House. He stressed that this would not deter the lawmakers from performing their constitutional responsibilities.

Also during the plenary, the Assembly amended its Standing Orders to allow the House to sit on any day and at any time within the week, if deemed necessary in the interest of the state or during emergencies—provided such sittings are properly convened by the Speaker.
