Phindiswa celebrated the New Year at the beach with her sister and friends, including her lover. She changed into her sister’s borrowed bum shorts, which her boyfriend thought were excessively exposing, and a fight ensued. When they returned home, the boyfriend stabbed her to death, even though it appeared that the argument had been settled.
The statement said, “The incident is said to have been caused by a dispute between the couple, which was allegedly triggered by Phindiswa’s attire and her socializing with friends during a New Year’s celebration.” “After the dispute, witnesses said, everything seemed to be back to normal, and the party carried on celebrating until finally retiring to their beds. “While the couple slept, the sisters went to the beach. A few hours later, the police called the family after that.
“The lover claimed someone had been hurt when he showed up drenched in blood at the Harare police station in Khayelitsha following the murder, according to the authorities. But he ran away before giving more information, which led to a police pursuit. “Phindiswa’s lifeless body was later discovered in Kuyasa, and the lover was caught while in possession of two kitchen knives.
Witnesses claimed that Phindiswa had been subjected to abuse for a considerable amount of time and was aware that it had become physical over the eight months that the couple had reportedly been dating.
