Nollywood actress Inegbenebor Osereme has revealed her encounter with a movie director when she went for a movie audition, while also stating how she was denied the opportunity to get the movie role due to what the movie director said to her.
In a video that was posted on the official YouTube channel of Seun Oloketuyi TV during an interactive session, she disclosed that a movie director told her that she is beautiful but that she cannot make it as an actress if she does not bleach her skin.
In her statement, she said, “One of the things that pained me most in the movie industry happened on the day I went for a movie audition. A movie director said I’m pretty, but I can’t make it as an actress if I don’t bleach my skin. He said all the actresses on the movie set are fair in complexion and that the camera isn’t made for Black girls. I left the audition, and a few years later, he invited me for a movie, and I told him that I can’t work with him because I haven’t bleached my skin yet, but he denied that he ever made that statement.”
