The incident, which had caused distress for months, was finally brought to a joyful end through the diligent efforts of the Delta State Police Command. In a recent interview with TVC News, the father of the child recounted the traumatic experience. According to him, the ordeal began on February 16, when his wife accompanied the woman—who has now been identified as the suspect—to her residence in Warri. However, things took a dark turn when the woman dropped off his wife and made away with the baby. “One day on the 16th of February, my wife went with her to know her place when she stay for Warri. From there, she dropped my wife on the road and took the baby away,” the distressed father shared. “We reported the matter to the police, and they traced and arrested the woman on the 29th of May.” The Commissioner of Police (CP) emphasized that the arrest was part of the force’s ongoing commitment to safeguarding the lives and property of Nigerians. He stated that the successful operation is evidence of the police’s determination to track down criminals and ensure justice is served. The couple expressed profound gratitude to the police for their swift action and dedication, calling the rescue a miracle. The baby has since been reunited with the family and is in good health.
