Celestine Omehia, a former governor of Rivers State, has criticized the federal minister from Rivers State for the dearth of federal projects in the state, pointing out that some individuals had accused former Transportation Minister Rotimi Amaechi of failing to use his power to bring projects to the state.CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
In a recent Arise TV broadcast, Omehia questioned the current federal representation’s impact on Rivers state development. “Three years ago, some leaders of the state have always said ministers from Rivers State must bring projects to Rivers State. Today, we are asking questions: how many projects from the federal government are here in Rivers State?” he stated.
“When Rotimi Amaechi was minister, people said he didn’t bring projects to the state. Today, we have the same stature in the higher stature of Ministers, and we are asking, how many projects have you brought into Etche? How many projects have we received in Ikwerre Local Government? How many projects have we received in Ikwerre ethnic nationality? We are waiting.”
The former governor concluded his speech by identitying the importance of state loyalty and development, declaring, “If you don’t love your state, it simply means you don’t love yourself, because any person who says his father’s house will burn down, he is also burning down himself.
