Trump’s comments had described certain countries as “shitholes,” which sparked outrage across the globe. Obasanjo stated that it is essential for Nigeria to demonstrate to Trump and the world that such labels are inaccurate. He pointed out that the U.S. has chosen Trump as its next leader, and whether Nigerians agree with the decision or not, they must find a way to engage diplomatically with the new administration.
