The act, which comes amid the ongoing political crisis and state of emergency declared in the state by President Bola Tinubu, is seen by many as a statement of peace, resilience, and people-centered leadership. Despite attempts to undermine his administration, Governor Fubara has remained focused on governance and connecting with the grassroots.
Supporters in Port Harcourt hailed the gesture, describing it as an unprecedented act of love and commitment to the people. “While others sow division, our governor chose to unite the people with celebration,” a local leader said. Many praised Fubara for refusing to be deterred by the emergency rule or recent political developments. “He could have given excuses, but he said no, my people need to feel the spirit of Easter,” one supporter noted.
