The lawmaker, who represents the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), warned that the National Working Committee must act quickly to prevent total collapse. “This is not difficult. Do this before what is left goes away,” he said. He urged the party leadership to summon an emergency meeting and use the current majority to expel those he called “political trespassers. Ugochinyere also accused the Ebonyi State Government of using trumped-up terrorism charges to persecute Comrade Comb, President of the Nigerian Youth General Assembly.

“It is very insulting that the president of NG for youth can be kidnapped like a common criminal over trump charges,” he said. He called on the Governor of Ebonyi State and the police command to discontinue the charges and distance themselves from the act. The lawmaker further accused a past state administration of sabotaging a World Bank erosion control project in his community. “Our people are currently retired… because of the abandonment of the World Bank project,” he said.

He appealed to the federal government to intervene urgently and called for a national peace and reconciliation summit.
